We are embarking on a fun trip out in Sooke, BC in summer 2024!

The scale of jamborees are much bigger than just a simple weekend camp with a 35 people. It’s with over 4,000 scouts all in one spot. This kind of event, with scouting youth from all over canada gathered in one spot makes it one very memorable event.

For multiple days we will work in patrols to attend different activities around the massive camp, varying from Climbing, to geocaching, axe throwing, frisbee golf, HAM radio, dragon boating, mountain biking, scenic hikes and much more.

COST to go on the trip: $2,500.

What does the $2,500 fee include?
Great question, here are some researched guesstimations for the costs.
$600-Jamboree fee includes activities, site rental and other stuff.
$1,200-Transport - Plane, bus and car rentals for pre camp.
$350-Pre-Camp - Site fees for accommodations, food and the activities.
$200-Food - Food for pre-camp and extra for travel.
$150 -Other - Outings for PJ and Merch (Crest, Shirts and Buff).

What are the main transportation for this event?
We fly out to BC, use public transit for our stay in Victoria accompanied with one rental van for gear & emergency runs, we will be bussed to and from the jamboree. We fly back on the 13th.

How can we help (Parents)
We will have a few roles that parents can take on to help us reach our goals for a great event.
-Fundraising team: People to help support specific fundraisers or to seek out sponsors.

-Administrators: Help collect forms and other documents. Perhaps help make posters or coordinate emails.

And other funs stuff, like get coffee for the Scouters. =)

What are the Patrols for the event.
Patrols are an important part of scouting, even more at a Jamboree with thousands of participants. These small groups will be a max of 8 people, including 2 Scouters. Patrols will attend activities, outings and meals together. We have not set the event patrols yet. They will be different than Troop patrols.

What are the activities that you will do at camp?
Presently, the event has not launched its program. but once they do, each Patrol will get to choose their program for the week.
